Kakobuy QC Guide

Understand how Kakobuy QC photos work, what to look for, and how to use them as a reference tool during your research.

Item Photos vs Warehouse QC Photos

Item Photos (Seller Photos)

These are the marketing photos displayed on the seller\'s product page. They may show the item in ideal lighting, from the best angles, and may represent a prototype rather than the actual item you receive.

Warehouse QC Photos

These are photos taken by the warehouse or agent when the item arrives. They show the actual product in warehouse lighting, often with less flattering angles. These are more representative of what you will receive.

GL vs RL (For Beginners)

GL (Green Light)

A term used when the QC photos show an item that appears acceptable to the buyer. The buyer approves the item to be shipped. This is a personal decision, not a quality guarantee.

RL (Red Light)

A term used when the QC photos reveal issues that the buyer finds unacceptable. The buyer may request an exchange, return, or refund. This is also a personal decision based on individual expectations.

Category-Specific QC Checks

Shoes

Check overall shape, stitching, sole alignment, logo placement, and any visible glue marks. Compare with item photos. Note whether shoebox is included.

Hoodies / Sweaters

Check stitching, print alignment, tags, material thickness, and overall construction. Check for any loose threads or defects.

Bags / Accessories

Check stitching, zippers, hardware, logo placement, and material quality. Check for any scratches on metal parts or misaligned prints.

Budget Items

For lower-priced items, focus on whether the item matches the basic description. Minor imperfections may be acceptable at lower price points.

When to Request Extra Photos

  • When the default QC photos are blurry or unclear
  • When you need to inspect a specific detail (logo, tag, sole, etc.)
  • When the item photos show features not visible in the QC photos
  • When you are unsure about sizing and need measurements
  • When the item has multiple colorways and you need confirmation

Why QC References Are Not Guarantees

QC photos are an important research tool, but they have limitations:

  • They reflect a specific batch, not all future batches
  • Lighting conditions may differ from what you see at home
  • Individual items may vary even within the same batch
  • Some defects may not be visible in photos
  • QC photos are taken quickly, not with professional equipment

This website does not guarantee product quality. QC photos are for research purposes only. Always make your own judgment and verify on the official Kakobuy platform.
